Overnight Rivertrees Country Inn, Arusha

Day 2:

Collection at 8 am by your private driver guide and our 4 x4 safari land cruiser. Drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant and wet lands. Incredible bird and wildlife.

Lions sleeping under the trees, impala grazing in the shade, buffalo and eland on the horizon. Picnic lunch and then onwards for your afternoon adventure. Leave the park at around 5.00 pm and make your way to Isoitok camp and enjoy a late afternoon sundowner overlooking the rift valley.

An intimate private rustic camp encompassing a grass root cultural experience and a true look behind the scenes into Maasai culture. Incredibly comfortable and friendly. Sundowner drinks on the bluff overlooking Masaailand followed by a delicious 3 course dinner by candlelight. Sleep in wonderfully comfortable tents amid the sounds of the African night.

Day 3:

Early morning departure with your driver guide to Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving at the gate at around 7am, you descend into the most spectacular caldera in the world. 110 sq miles and teeming with game as far as the eye can see, Ngorongoro Crater is a unique experience.

Picnic lunch in the crater and ascend for your drive to Bougainvillea Lodge near the small town of Karatu, situated between Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. Individual cottages set in beautiful gardens. Amazing food and extremely friendly staff. A lovely comfortable lodge in tune with the Tanzanian way of life.

Overnight Bougainvillea Lodge, Ngorongoro

Day 4 to 7 (3 nights):

After an early breakfast the guide will drive to Manyara airstrip for the scheduled flight into Serengeti, where you will be met on arrival by a new guide and 4 x 4 vehicle. Drive to Chaka Camp, game viewing along the way. Spot herds of wildebeest and plains game as far as the eye can see. The camp is close to the Mara River, allowing easy access to several river crossing points in the area. River crossings are common with crocodiles, hippos and large cats scattered throughout the area.

Private en suite tents with a shaded verandah overlooking the Serengeti will be home for 3 days. Early morning tea or coffee brought to the tent on request each morning to sip on the veranda. Evenings around the fire followed by a sumptuous dinner and fine wines. Experienced guides follow the game. Maybe choose to do a balloon trip over the Serengeti one morning, followed by a champagne breakfast on the banks of the Mara River. Buffet lunch on the savannah or a delicious lunch in camp.

Ice cold drinks as the guide stops each evening watching the sun sink below the horizon, the final glow of another incredible day on the Serengeti Plains.

Overnight Chaka camp, Serengeti (3 nights)

Day 7 – 11 (4 nights or stay a 5th night free):

After a leisurely breakfast your driver guide will drive you to Kogatende airstrip for your flight to Dar es Salaam to connect with your scheduled flight to Mpanda in the South west of Tanzania. Your Lupita transport will be waiting at the airport to drive you to the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

Your Lupita manager will be waiting to greet you as you arrive. There is a short 15 minute boat ride to the private island of Lupita, rising out of the pristine sapphire waters of historic Lake Tanganyika in the remote south-western region of Tanzania. Lupita Island is situated at the southern end of the lake just 140 km from the Zambian border. The island is prehistorically lush, extraordinarily beautiful.

Laze by the pool and order your favourite cocktail.  Have a relaxing treatment in our spa with a view. Snorkel, swim or kayak. Join a sundowner cruise and observe the most spectacular sunsets. Swim in a mile of water, this is still one of the cleanest lakes in the world.

Each breath-taking villa is one of just 10 sumptuous open-air suites perched on the hillside, delivering peace and ultra-comfort. Sink into the personal plunge pool each cottage provides.

Water-sports, swimming, a village visit, nature walks, a work out in the gym, a game of pool, relaxing on deserted beaches are a preface to fine dining and blissful evenings under the stars.

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon on a deserted beach with a delicious cold buffet, ice cold drinks and fine wines. Beach games and snorkeling around the fascinating rocks crowded with beautiful colourful fish. Do as much or as little as you want.
Lupita island is an experience that will stay with you forever, rustic luxury, unadulterated simple pleasure.

Overnight Lupita Private Island, 4 nights (you can stay a 5th night free if you have the time)

Day 11:

After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred on the short boat ride back to the mainland and your 3 hour drive in comfort to Mpanda airport where you will catch your connecting flight back to Dar es Salaam.
