Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport. Met by our company representative and road transfer to Arusha. Overnight Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Day 2 Friday:

Late morning collection after a leisurely breakfast a short drive to Arusha airport and your flight to Manyara airstrip, where your private driver guides will be waiting to transfer you to Ngorongoro Crater lodge, visiting a Maasai boma along the way. Experience a different culture as you explore their small houses and the interesting way in which they go about their every day lives in a true look behind the scenes into Maasai culture. From there your vehicle and guides will meander around the edge of the crater until you reach the Lodge. Perched high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater the views from the lodge are simply breath-taking.

Nowhere else on earth can you wake up among all the trappings of an elegant baroque chateau - brocade sofas, gilt mirrors, beaded chandeliers and panelled walls - and be instantly transported into one of the most famous African landscapes with just one glance out the window of the lodge.

In this place of dramatic contrasts, where Versailles meets Maasai, anything is possible and the natural luxury of the beautiful setting ensures that the dramatic interior of your suite blends perfectly with its stilted thatch architecture.

Late afternoon: relax and settle in to your beautiful suites. Sundowner drinks on the verandah as you plan your day tomorrow on the floor of the crater. Relax in a way that will stay with you forever. After a wonderful night’s sleep with your crackling fire in the hearth to keep out the chill, a delicious early breakfast awaits you.

Day 3 Saturday:

An early departure into the most amazing crater in the world. 110 sq miles teeming with game, the caldera was once one of the biggest stand-alone mountains in Africa. 50 million years ago it blew its top leaving a hole now rich with vegetation and game. It is the biggest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. Spend the morning and early afternoon exploring the crater and its wildlife, stop for a wonderful catered lunch, tea and muffins and ice cold drinks. Mid to late afternoon you will make your way back to the Crater Lodge for wonderful sundowners and a delicious 4 course dinner under the glass chandeliers. Spend another wonderful night in the world famous Crater Lodge.

Days 4 – 8 (4 nights) Sunday – Thursday:

Early morning departure to Manyara airstrip and your flight to Kogatende on the Serengeti Plains.  The Legendary Serengeti Camp is on the plains of Northern Serengeti not far from the banks of the Mara River.  This camp is strategically positioned for the wildebeest migration (of course the timings are not guaranteed as nature is fickle!)  The landscape transitions from the infinite expanse of the short grass plains to whistling thorn scrub and into classic acacia savannahs.

Your experienced driver guides will be waiting at the airstrip to take you to camp. Spot herds of wildebeest and plains game on the way. Huge herds of zebra following the great migration.  Arrive at your camp where you can unpack and settle in, a delicious lunch awaits you or buffet lunch in the bush. Siesta, afternoon game drive, evening showers and cocktails under the stars.  You will experience all the excitement of the Serengeti and the wonderful assortments of animals. This tented camp has a natural aesthetic appeal with its simplistic luxury of neutral interiors designed to provide every comfort.

The main gathering area is formal yet cosy, with a lounge and dining space to accommodate you. The imposing presence of nature makes the camp a special place where game drives will always provide wildlife encounters. Evidence of ancient tribal cultures can be seen with a visit to the rock paintings just a drive away.

The night chorus in the form of crickets, cicadas and tree frogs is always present; and to pull you from your dreamy sleep state the following morning, a chorus of bird song follows thereafter to be enjoyed with freshly pressed Kilimanjaro coffee. Daily game drives and buffet lunch in the bush or a delicious meal in camp depending on how the day goes.

Cold drinks on the plains as you stop each evening watching the sun sink below the horizon, the final glow of another incredible day.

Private en suite tents with a shaded verandah overlooking the Serengeti will be your home for 4 days. Early morning tea or coffee brought to your tent on request to sip on the verandah before you start each day. Evenings around the fire swapping stories of your day followed by a sumptuous dinner and fine wines.

Each day will be a whole new experience.

Maybe choose to do a balloon trip over the Serengeti one morning (booked in advance as an extra), followed by a champagne breakfast on the plains.

Day 8 to 12 Thursday – Monday (4 nights):

Your flight from Serengeti to Kipili and Lupita island and your grand finale to your wonderful African experience.

Transfer by boat to the Island only 10 minutes away. Relaxation and plenty of activities await you.

Lupita Island rises up out of the pristine sapphire waters of historic Lake Tanganyika in the remote southwestern region of Tanzania. The island is prehistorically lush, extraordinarily private. On our 110 acres of privacy you feel free to rediscover yourselves.

Laze by the pool and order your favourite cocktail with a good book from our library. Visit the spa, have a private massage with your partner in our spa with a view.

Snorkel, swim or take out a kayak alone or with our water guide, into the pristine waters. Join us on one of our boats for sundowners and observe the most spectacular sunsets. Swim in a mile of water, still one of the cleanest lakes in the world.

Each breath-taking villa is one of just 10 sumptuous open air suites perched high on the hillside, delivering peace and ultra comfort. Meditate by the stream that runs through your suite or wade into your personal plunge pool.

Enjoy water-sports, swimming or a village visit, visit an old derelict monastery on the mainland full of history, work out in the gym, a game of pool, relaxing on our own private beach with an ice cold drink from our “Beach Shack” bar on the water’s edge. All are a preface to fine dining and blissful evenings under the stars in our boma around the fire, or in the dhow bar sipping your favourite cocktail. Join us for a fun filled afternoon on a deserted beach with a sumtious cold buffet, ice cold drinks and delicious wines. Beach games and snorkeling around the fascinating rocks found just below the surface, crowded with beautiful colourful fish; many only exclusively found around our island.

Climb among groups of huge boulders, or walk down to our beach for a swim and a refreshing drink at our beach bar. Skip stones from the sand. Let your guide escort you on a wonderful invigorating kayak or snorkelling excursion around the island and beyond.

Lupita island is an experience that will stay with you forever... rustic luxury and unadulterated pleasure.
